Hollin Hall Village Citizens Association
75th Anniversary Celebration

The Hollin Hall Village Citizens Association on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, hosted a celebration for current and former members of the neighborhood to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the community’s establishment.

It was a sunny, picturesque day, which provided the perfect backdrop for a community celebration. The event was held at the Mount Vernon Park and featured locally owned food trucks, neighborhood band Close2Home, activities for children, and a display of proclamations commending the neighborhood on its anniversary.

Hollin Hall Village was established in 1943, when Fairfax County approved the first two sections of the neighborhood’s subdivisions. John McPherson, Sr. was the main developer of Hollin Hall and believed in the future development of the community, as the area witnessed an expansion of development during the 1950s. Since then, generations of residents have called Hollin Hall Village their home, enjoying the small-town feel and quality of life, while being just outside of Washington, DC.

Today, Hollin Hall Village is a vibrant community of approximately 700 single family homes and local businesses. Hollin Hall Village contains a local shopping center with community staples, specialty stores, and a senior center and child daycare center which are all within walking distance for residents. There are also baseball fields that are home fields to many neighborhood kids.

What’s more, the neighborhood continues to uphold and preserve its small-town environment, while continuously remaining involved with the issues impacting the future of the community.

As part of the 75th anniversary celebration, HHVCA developed an anniversary booklet that was provided to members of the citizen’s association. The booklet contains articles, stories and photos documenting the neighborhood’s 75-year history.

An electronic version of the booklet is available here:
